Project Background

The Hepburn Regional Tourism Association and Daylesford & Macedon Ranges Tourism Inc., in partnership with Hepburn Shire Council and Tourism Victoria, have identified the need for a strategic plan to guide the sustainable development, management and marketing of tourism in the region over the next 10 years.

This plan will be developed during coming months by a team of regional tourism experts from the Australian Regional Tourism Research Centre (ARTRC), in consultation with a local Steering Committee. The team includes:

  • Dr Meredith Lawrence (Project Coordinator)
  • Associate Professor Jeremy Buultjens (Director, ARTRC)
  • Dr Dianne Dredge (Head, School of Environmental Planning, Griffith University)
  • Dr Carmen Tideswell (Graduate College of Management, Southern Cross University)
  • Dr Kath Fisher – (Graduate Research College, Southern Cross University)

This team brings independent regional tourism expertise and professional rigour to the project including experience in: economic and tourism planning; sustainable destination development, management and marketing; tourism research analysis, local government involvement in tourism; and community consultation.
